This PowerPoint was used for my 3rd Unit Project on Pontiacs War, and in my opinion, it was my best visual presentation using technology this far. While making the presentation I enjoyed trying to find images that could represent the information I wanted to get across. However, it was sometimes difficult to use images instead of words to show information. In the end, I ended up using hyperlinks to certain slides containing information such as who, what, when, where and why. This way I could organize my information for the students in an easily understood way. If I were to do this project again, I would try to use more images and less words, however I feel as though I was successful in using a technology based visual aid.
Goal: I would like to improve my use of technology tools by challenging myself to use technology such as Prezi’s, video making, and other computer software especially in school presentations.

Communication Process

public presentation of self, interpersonal relationships (peers, family, teachers, mentors), public speaking
Oral Presentation for third unit project on which I recieved an A.
On my third unit project for U.S. History I focused on Pontiac’s War, and after much preparation I was pleased to receive an “A” on my oral presentation. Overall, I enjoy speaking publically and for this project in particular, I enjoyed organizing the information in a fluent way. However, the most difficult part was transitioning from one topic to another. I found that after I practiced it out loud a few times, I was able to revise certain parts that sounded choppy or awkward. All in all I was pretty pleased with my presentation, but I were to do it again, I would have added more information orally.

Here I have two works cited papers for Unit projects—the very first one, and the latest one, I believe that these two works cited shows my growth in this category very well. In the beginning of the year I used less resources and even one Wikipedia article (which we now know is not an efficient information source). More recently, however, I have a wider variety of sources from which I received information from, and I did not use any “risky” sources. Though I do not particularly enjoy the research process, I did find that it was much easy as I grew more experienced with it. In the beginning of the year, I found finding specific, reliable information somewhat difficult, but now I understand how to identify good sources and pick out important information. The more recent research I did was much easy to go through with than early stuff. I will continue to use my new found research tools and also try to find new ones.
